The RunningLake runtime
The runtime is the set of engine images and components a data plane runs. Every component has exactly one version in a train, so two planes on the same train run the same bits, and a query’s answer does not depend on which plane it landed on.
This page is generated from the version set itself. It lists each component, the version the train pins, and the licence and the upstream the version set records for it. Not every component is Apache or CNCF: DuckDB is MIT and Trino is maintained by the Trino Software Foundation, and the table says so for each row rather than asserting one licence for the whole runtime.
How to read the tables:
- Version is the one value the train pins. “Not yet pinned” means the train has not chosen one; a train that is generally available pins every component.
- Licence is the SPDX identifier the version set records. “Not recorded” means the version set does not name a licence for that component, which is not a statement that none applies. Read the upstream’s own licence before relying on it.
- Changes answers is “Yes” when a change to the component can change what a query returns, not only how fast or how safely it runs. A “Yes” change is never a rebuild of a train: it is a new train.
